Wilkes Co. } In the name of God amen ~

I Thomas Moreman of the county and State aforesaid being weak in body but of Sound and disposing mind and memory

First I recommend my soul to God Almighty who gave it
2nd My Body to be decently buried, and as to my temporal affairs and the things of this life

Item first ~ I will and bequeath to my son in law Champion Marable One dollar Who ha received a full part of all my estate heretofore Who have received Two hundred acres of Land lying in The county of Lincoln and State aforesaid to which a/p [?] I have I have [sic] made a Deed to Said Marable and he the said Marrable burnt the deed as he told me he the said Marrable requested me to give the Second Deed To Thomas Trammel Sen:r in which I did. Now if after my death he the aid Marrable Should make it appear that I gave two deeds for one tract of Land and if the said Marable should want to Claim on my Estate I aver that the first Deed that I so gave to Said Marable Shall not have any power on my Estate and I want nothing of this sort to take place before or after my decease.

Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my son John Moreman five hundred dollars which he has hereafter received and at my death For him an equal part with my other heirs of the remnant of my Estate. --

Item 3 I give and bequeath unto my daughter rebecca now Rebecca Shearer five hundred dollars which She has heretofore received and at my death I want her to draw an equal part with my other heirs of the remnant of my Estate

Item 4 I give and bequeath unto my son James Moreman five hundred dollars which he has heretofore received and at my death I want him to draw -- an equal part with my Other heirs of The remnant of my estate. --

6th I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth now Elizabeth Johnson One Dollar a She has received a full part of my Estate

7 I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy now Nancy Michael five hundred dollars as She has heretofore received and at my death I want her with my Other heirs to draw her part of the remnant of my Estate.

8 I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah now Sarah Frazier five hundred dollars as she has heretofore received and at my death I want her with my Other heirs to draw an equal part of the remnant of my Estate ---

9 I give and bequeath unto my daughter Louisa now Louisa Hammock five hundred dollars which she has heretofore received and at my death I want her with my Other heirs [to] draw an equal part <at my death> of the remnant of my Estate. ----

10 I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Moreman five hundred Dollars which he has heretofore recd and at my death I want him to draw an equal part with my Other heirs <an equal part> of the remnant of my Estate

11 I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife One negro man George also three hundred Dollars and my Tract of land Containing One hundred and twenty Acres more or less on which my Dwelling house now stands it being the tract which I purchased of John Burdett.

12 I give and bequeath unto my son Starnes five hundred dollars which he has heretofore received and at my death I want him to draw with my other heirs <draw> an equal part of the remnant of estate. ---

13th I give and bequeath unto my son Elijah five hundred dollars which he has not received and at my death I want him also to draw an equal part of the remnant of my estate.

14th I give and bequeath unto my Son in law Meredith Trammel One dollar as he has received a full part of my estate

15th I give and bequeath unto my son Charles Madison when he arrives at the age of Twenty years old five hundred dollars and at my death I want him with my Other heirs to draw an equal part with them of the remnant of my estate.

16th I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Jefferson When he arrives at the age of twenty one years Old five hundred dollars and at y death I want him to draw an equal part with my Other heirs of the remnant of my estate

17 I give and bequeath at my death unto my daughter belinda Frances a negro girl named Lucy and her increase if any and also at my death I want her to draw with my Other heirs an equal part of the remnant of my estate

18 At the death of my beloved Wife Rachael if she Should be the longest liver I will that the rest & residue of my property Shall be equally divided Among the following Children (Viz) John Moreman, Rebecca Shearer, James Moreman, William Morman, Nancy Michael, Sarah Frazier, Louisa Hammock, Thomas Moreman, Starnes Moreman, Elijah Moreman, Charles Madison Moreman, Henry Jefferson Moreman & Belinda Frances Moreman

19th I hereby appoint and nominate my beloved wife Rachael my executrix and my Sons John and Thomas Moreman my Executors of this my last will and testament -- revoking and disannulling [?] all Others. And by these presents -- ratifying affirming

Personally appeared in Open Court Richard J. Halliday William P Carter W B Heart the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will who being sworn dispose and say that they saw Testator sign seal and heard him acknowledge the same to be his last will and testament and at the time of his so doing he was of sound disposing mind and memory And that they subscribed to the Same as Witnesses in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each Other. ----
