  1. Letter from Windsor Heraldry & Genealogy, 163, Clewer Road, Windsor, SL4 4DU, England, dtd 10 Jun 1985 to Mr. Mike Marable, (Windsor Heraldry & Genealogy, 163, Clewer Road, Windsor, SL4 4DU, England, 10 Jun 1985). Letter from Windsor Heraldry & Genealogy, 163, Clewer Road, Windsor, SL4 4DU, England, dtd 10 Jun 1985 to Mr. Mike Marable, extract as follows: It is unusual for early registers to give much detail and we are fortunate that the first firmly documented ancestor George is described as a mason. George Marable married Rachel Ford 22 Jun 1589. He was probably 21 or over at marriage and lived to about 60. He was buried 23 Oct 1628. Valentine Marable was baptised 6 Oct 1605, the seventh child. The original spelling was Valantyene, son of Gorge. His brothers and sisters did not all live to adulthood. One John was born 1592, and died before 1596, when another son was so named, (a baker in 1621). Catherine was born 1598, died 1599. Matthew died in 1602, and Peter lived 1600 - 1603. William born 1611, died 1612. This left three survivers, Valentine, Stephen, and John. Valentine married Ruth Mount 10 April 1630 and George Marable was his first child. Valantine died in 1687 or 1688. Either he or his son was a local churchwarden. Ruth died in 1670. The names of George and Valentine continued to be given and in the 1700's were the names of town burgesses and bricklayers entitled to vote. Later generations were in bookbinding and silkweaving.
