Family of the Rev. Henry Hartwell Marable
and Elizabeth Mason of Tennessee


Grace Benedict Paine (right) and her daughter Grace Paine Terzian at the gravestone of Elizabeth Mason, wife of the Rev. Henry Hartwell Marable, which they located on 10 Oct 1982 behind a then-new house in the 500 block of the Almaville Road, Smyrna, Tennessee. They are, respectively, fourth and fifth great granddaughters of Rev. Marable, through Anne Jones Marable Hillman, daughter of the Hon. Dr. John Hartwell Marable.


Log house built by the Rev. Henry Hartwell Marable in about 1810 near Smyrna in Rutherford Co., TN. After the Reverend's death, the house was sold to the father of Sam Davis, "Boy Hero of the Confederacy," and it has since been moved to the Sam Davis Home park in Smyrna.
